June on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast is truly heaven on earth. The ocean is often glassy and calm, yet winter swells remain a real possibility. The gentle white water rolling towards the shore creates a scene that invites quiet reflection and a meditative gaze.
Today at The Laughing Forest Wedding Venue, we had the honour of witnessing Keran and Monty exchange their wedding vows, followed by a typically vibrant South Coast celebration.
It was a beautiful day—cool, sunny and calm. The Laughing Forest gardens, still lush and green from the summer rains, have begun settling into their winter rest. The rhythmic sound of the ocean provided the perfect natural soundtrack, complemented by the soulful melodies of renowned saxophonist Jerry Kunene, who entertained guests throughout the ceremony.
Keran was the star of the show, she gracefully made her way along the boardwalk towards Diane, the Marriage Officer, who once again shared the love and significance of the occasion with warmth and sincerity.
Monty was visibly moved as he watched Keran walk down the aisle. These are the moments that become treasured memories and remain with us for a lifetime.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed refreshments and conversation on the wedding terraces, with Jerry Kunene’s saxophone melodies adding to the celebratory vibe, before making their way to the reception area. There, DJ Kevin kept the celebrations alive while Debbie and her team served the delicious meal they had been preparing for the previous two days.
This was a true Scottburgh celebration. Here on the Mid-South Coast, weddings are community affairs filled with laughter, storytelling, great music, and perhaps even the occasional tequila. Family and friends came together to create memories that will undoubtedly be talked about for years to come.
